About the job
As Course Director of the Master of Urban Design program, you will provide a strong contribution to curriculum development, teaching and research within Swinburne’s Master of Urban Design course, which commences in 2019. Working closely with the Dean of Design, Department Chair, Associate Deans, and the Professor of Urban Design, you will aid in the development of a clear vision for Urban Design and Architectural education and provide an overall framework for teaching and learning excellence. As Course Director you will play a critical role in the overall students’ experience, teaching quality, and quality of graduate outcomes. You will represent the course on the best interests of students, staff and the University and actively engage internally and externally to ensure the best possible outcomes.
You will have an established research track record in one or more areas of urban design, architecture, and/or architectural engineering where they engage the urban scale, including urban design, its culture, relationship to analytics and policy, computational urban design, and communicating urban design.
Skills and experience
To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate the following:
• An earned doctoral qualification in Urban Design or associated field or professional practice equivalent.
• Membership of an appropriate Professional body
• Demonstrated ability to develop and manage curriculum, and high-quality teaching in Urban Design with outstanding postgraduate outcomes.
