Careers and Employability sits within Student Engagement and is focused of delivering quality careers and employability programs and services to students, through direct student service delivery, embedded careers curriculum in collaboration with academic and teaching staff and external engagement with employers in industry and the community.

About the job
The purpose of an AccessAbility Careers Hub Coordinator is to promote and increase the employment outcomes for people living with a broad range of disability, medical conditions and mental illness. The incumbent will establish and maintain the Swinburne AccessAbility Careers Hub incorporating a Neurodiversity Hub to cater to the specific needs of students diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and an AccessAbility Employment Hub catering to the needs of all other students living with disability. 

The role will involve overall project management with key tasks related to developing a virtual and physical presence for the programs, providing direct support for and engagement with identified students, collaborations with key stakeholders both internal and external to Swinburne and the assessment of impact of the projects, especially on the retention and success of students.

This position will work directly with students either individually, in small groups or online, and prepare students for internships and ongoing employment. The Coordinator will represent the Hub both internally and externally to relevant stakeholders and contribute to the development of marketing strategies to raise awareness of the Hub to current and prospective students.

The incumbent will report to the Manager, Career Development and work closely with the Associate Director, AccessAbility Services and team. In addition, the incumbent will be accountable to an Advisory Committee for the project more broadly.

About you
To be successful in the role, you will have:
• A degree with subsequent relevant experience; or extensive experience and specialist expertise or broad knowledge in career development and disability services or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
• Qualifications in Career Education and Development that is recognised as Eligibility for membership to a CICA member association at professional or associate level
• A solid understanding of the key challenges facing students with disabilities and experience of working with diverse cohorts, especially students with disabilities
• Demonstrated ability to relate to students with a disability as valued individuals, maintaining boundaries, and displaying appropriate behaviours at all times.
