About the job
This is a position within the Faculty of Health, Arts and Design and Swinburne Research. We are seeking a highly motivated radiographer preferably with MRI experience to work within the Swinburne Neuroimaging Facility. The MRI radiographer will work independently alongside our existing radiographer, and under the supervision of our SNI Operations Manager to ensure efficient daily operations of the MRI service. The MRI radiographer is responsible for performing MRI services for research projects. Swinburne Neuroimaging is a research-only imaging facility, and as such, our MRI examinations deal with the more unusual and challenging cases providing great stimulus for the MRI radiographer. We do not perform diagnostic MRI.
We are looking for a self-motivated and reliable team member who will enjoy working in a cutting-edge research imaging facility, and as part of a multi-disciplinary team of scientists and clinicians.
The successful candidate must be registered with Medical Radiation Practitioners Board of Australia (MRPBA). The full-time position is to primarily work 8.30-4.30pm with some flexibility for evening work.
Skills and experience
To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate the following:
• Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Radiations) or an equivalent and a full registration with MRPBA (AHPRA)
• Comprehensive knowledge of MRI equipment, physics and techniques
• Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with participants, researchers, and other medical and non-medical personnel verbally and in writing
