About the job
The position is a 0.6 to 1.0 EFT (negotiable), two-year contract, with potential for extension, and is within the Iverson Health Research Institute and under Swinburne Research. The position will primarily support the medication adherence program, which is a collaboration between Swinburne University and Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, as well as other research projects within the team.

The appointee will have experience in healthcare and/or health psychology or another relevant discipline, and in funding proposal and ethics application development. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in digital healthcare and the ability to work across disciplines (e.g., IT, design and development, healthcare departments such as pharmacy/nursing and patient consumers) to achieve common goals. The appointee will have exceptional project management, writing and administration skills and work well as part of a team to achieve common goals. Ideally, a person who has prior experience working with healthcare funding bodies and hospital research and ethics departments would be advantageous.

The position will have the following principal roles: (i) coordinating the development of m-health tools, including a medication adherence app, online training package and other tools relevant to the program goals; (ii) coordinating the development and submission of research funding proposals; (iii) coordination and submission of research ethics applications (iv) assist with the supervision and mentorship of the undergraduate placement research assistant; (v) assist with manuscript drafting and submission, and (iv) assist with team building and development activities.
This position would suit someone who is passionate about a career in research project management. It requires a person with strong coordination skills, who appreciates the importance of planning to ensure project timelines and submission dates are adhered to.

The appointee will have the confidence to take charge of tasks and ensure clear communication with key stakeholders to obtain required team and collaborator input. The appointee will have excellent written and verbal communications skills and will be expected to function as a member of an interdisciplinary team in order to help the the Iverson Health Innovation Research Institute and Department of Behavioural Science in Cancer at Peter Mac to achieve their objectives.

Skills and experience
To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate the following:
• Undergraduate qualifications in health psychology or another related healthcare services degree.
• Substantial knowledge about the process of funding grant and ethics application submission within health psychology and the healthcare system
• Demonstrated experience in literature searching and drafting peer reviewed articles within health psychology/behavioural sciences, with a particular focus on translational research
• Demonstrated expertise in coordinating research projects
