About the job
The Deputy Director, PMO is the functional leader of project governance and assurance, reporting into the Director of Projects. The position holder leads a team to guide the successful delivery of programs and projects through the provision of strategic and operational support, including operational reporting, risk and issue tracking, quality control and reporting. The role will provide a reporting framework focused on value added advice and early identification of risk and issues for all major programmes and projects across the organisation.
The Deputy Director, PMO will manage day-to-day activities in the Program Management Office (PMO) to ensure IT programs and projects meet PMO processes and policies. The role oversees the PMO process implementation and ensures that information concerning content (e.g. deliverables, risks, issues) passes to and from sponsors. The role champions improving the consistency, predictability and efficiency of IT project delivery capability. The role provides leadership in best practices and is highly customer-focused. They also ensure the operational issues of the PMO are managed, focusing on the project interface with Program Managers, Project Managers, and project teams. In addition, the role oversees the project resourcing function.
