About the job
The Discovery Librarian works to deliver a high-quality discovery experience in a range of Library information services including Library Search, Swinburne Commons, Swinburne ResearchBank, and Subject Materials. The position works with a range of discovery and publishing platforms including Primo, Alma, EQUELLA and Kaltura and actively seeks opportunities to improve the discovery experience through enhancement of systems and practices, and improvements in metadata management. The position takes a key role in the ongoing operations of Swinburne Commons, the University’s centralised service for the management and distribution of Swinburne digital media.

Skills and experience
To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate the following:
• A relevant degree with subsequent relevant experience; or extensive experience and specialist expertise or broad knowledge in technical or administrative fields; an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
• Demonstrated knowledge and skills in relevant technical areas including digital object content management, digitisation of text and other formats, and web authoring and editing.
• Demonstrated technical knowledge and expertise in the use of relevant metadata standards and normalisation practices to deliver a highly functional and user-friendly library discovery service.
