About the job
In this hands on role, no 2 days will be the same. You may find yourself creating components for someone’s pet project, or maintaining and repairing workshop equipment that support teaching programs. Reporting to the Fabrication Manager, your days will be spent in our workshop, operating machinery, reading engineering drawings, and providing technical support to our students and industry partners.

About you
To be successful in the role, you will have:

•  An appropriate Trade qualification in Fitting and Machining and/or Toolmaking or allied fields or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
•  Experience in the manufacture, repair and maintenance of industrial and/or laboratory equipment, instrumentation and control systems as applied to teaching and research applications.
•  Experience in the manufacture of components & equipment from basic drawings supplied by staff, students and researchers.
•  Skilled in the use of a wide range of machine tools such as lathes, milling machines and grinders.
