Our Business Analyst (Load Planning and Forecasting) will be responsible for developing baseline forecast and budget load and load revenue models for all Higher Education, Pathways and Vocational Education (PAVE) and Research entities at Swinburne and to work with Strategy and Commercial, Finance, Faculties and Marketing (amongst others) to adjust for anticipated future demand, product/pricing developments and strategic initiatives as required.

Working closely with the Client Analytics Manager and Associate Director (Load Management), you will provide insightful analyses and reporting to support socialisation and approval of each iteration.  In addition, you will work to improve functionality and accuracy through incorporation of analytical models to refine estimates, improved processes (such as the apportionment of initiative benefits) and the ability to review and modify estimates at grains suitable for different audiences leveraging the full capabilities of the Swinburne Information Hub and associated Data & Analytics Performance, Planning & Executive Reporting (DAPPER) platform.

Skills and Experience 
To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate the following:

  • Demonstrated industry experience working in a BI/Modelling/Analytics environment
  • Experience using SQL to extract data for subsequent modelling
  • Demonstrated experience using SPSS, R or SAS for complex predictive modelling (ideally in load planning scenarios) and Microsoft Excel and Access
  • Demonstrated experience in analysing and presenting qualitative and quantitative data with a proven ability to critically analyse and clearly articulate the results to a variety of stakeholders
