We invite an experienced Senior Lecturer with a passion to lead and innovate to contribute to the Master of Counselling program within the Department of Psychological Sciences. You will be required to convene and teach postgraduate units, contribute to coordination of the program, supervise placement students in the program, conduct research and evaluation in areas relevant to the program and our partner organisations, and contribute to the growth of a suite of counselling postgraduate programs.
In this position you will be actively involved in the supervision of students on their counselling placements. You will be expected to function as a member of both discipline-based and interdisciplinary teams, in order to help the Faculty to achieve its objectives. The Senior Lecturer will be expected to carry out appropriate activities that will maintain and develop their scholarly, research and/or professional expertise.
Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role, you must demonstrate substantial knowledge and experience in counselling and mental health service provision to clients in the human services sector – including specialisations in trauma informed psychotherapy in at least one of the justice or human services or health services sectors. You must also be able to demonstrate creation of leading edge/best practices education, including flexible delivery formats, blended learning and the use of case studies, role-plays and/or simulations in the learning environment.
