Swinburne is a progressive university that aims to increase Australia’s capacity in science, technology and innovation as the drivers of modern, internationalised economies and workplaces. Our university is focused on high-impact global research, high-quality teaching and active engagement with both industry and the community.

The part time Catalyst Research Fellow will be a key contributing role to a series of research studies within the Centre for Forensic Behavioural Science. Topics of focus will broadly involve the reduction of serious violent and sexual re-offending among offenders. Specific areas will include re-integration and case management of offenders returning to the community from prison, continuity of management from prison to the community, “real time” risk assessment, and understanding the process by which ex-offenders desist from crime. Tasks will include research outcomes through publishing reports, journal articles, book chapters and other publications. The research fellow will prepare oral and written presentations for internal and external audiences that clearly articulate project aims, research methods and outcomes.

Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate the following:

• Experience in designing and conducting research independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment, with the ability to initiate collaborations.

• A demonstrated capacity to complete advanced writing and analysis tasks, including the preparation and publication of reports, journal articles, book chapters, and monographs.

• Competence using statistical programs (e.g. SPSS), familiarity with executing multiple statistical models, and interest in learning new programs and modelling techniques
