About the job
As one of our Learning Designers, you will be part of a team contributing to the creation of high quality learning experiences for our students. In this role, you will collaborate with our academics, providing them with the tools and resources to create engaging course materials. Your daily responsibilities will include supporting academic staff to deliver their courses effectively, advising on effective and authentic approaches to assessment, designing units and courses, advising on the effective use of educational technologies and participating in quality assurance processes.

Swinburne’s Learning Transformation Unit (LTU) provides professional development and support for teaching staff across all modes of delivery. It focuses on the transformations needed in Swinburne’s learning technologies and teaching practices to meet student needs and contributes to the achievement of the University’s 2025 vision to become a leading university of science, technology and innovation.

About you
With your collaborative approach, you are passionate about creating positive and engaging learning experiences. You are experienced in unit and/or whole-course design and devising effective and authentic assessments. Possessing hands-on experience using educational technologies, including learning management systems (Canvas preferred), video capture and editing tools, and e-portfolio tools you enjoy delivering a value-add service and coaching to achieve best practice education. You may be familiar with screencasting and video editing software, web technologies, including HTML, CSS or Javascript, or have a background in creating compelling user experiences with a focus on useability and accessibility. With a quality focus, you are obsessed with ensuring that our course materials are effective in meeting the requirements of a diverse range of learners and teachers.
