Senior Technical Officer - Chemistry/Biochemistry

About the job
We are looking for an experienced Senior Technical Officer to join our Chemistry/Biochemistry laboratories for a 12 month fixed term contract. In this role, you will be required to support the research activities in the Department of Chemistry and Biotechnology for the Faculty of Science Engineering and Technology. Your daily role will include working closely with our researchers managing designated laboratories to ensure experiments run smoothly and safely. This entails providing induction training, technical support for instrumentation, ensuring lab safety procedures are implemented and that the necessary infrastructure is in place and maintained to facilitate research..

About you
As our successful candidate, you will have a background in Chemistry/Biochemistry with experience in Analytical Chemistry and instrumentation. You will possess sound scientific laboratory skills together with a hands on approach to laboratory management and experience in working with interdisciplinary teams.
