About the job
This position is expected to prepare and deliver lectures, tutorials and workshops and to assess students in the relevant business discipline both on campus and online. This includes making a significant contribution to the initiation and development of academic programs and working with the academic team in the development of program change and innovation. The position is also expected to mentor and counsel students on academic matters and also supervise masters by research and PhD students for a Level C and honours, masters and PhD students for a Level B.

A contribution to the School’s research output, income and impact is expected. The position will assume administrative tasks associated with normal teaching duties and will also contribute to School management and administration generally. 

The position is expected to participate in activities that foster and build further on existing links with government, business, communities and professions in Australia and internationally.

Candidates with significant and recent industry experience will be considered as there is the potential for this position to have an increased emphasis on industry engagement.

The position will be within the Department of Business Technology and Entrepreneurship. The department delivers high quality personalised education and fosters a strong research culture that includes international collaboration, competitive grants and high-quality publications.

Faculty of Business & Law
The Faculty of Business and Law is committed to delivering excellent education courses, quality research with impact and engagement activities with deep industry connections. Entrepreneurship, innovation and social impact underpin all of our activities and infuse our undergraduate and postgraduate programs.

About you
To be successful in the role, you will have:

  • An earned doctoral qualification in the relevant discipline or a related field
  • Experience in undertaking teaching, associated administrative duties, coordination and curriculum development at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. In particular, strong teaching outcomes in a relevant business discipline
  • Demonstrated excellence in and commitment to innovative education, including blended learning formats, online teaching and the use of case studies, role-plays and/or simulations in the learning environment
