About the job 
Swinburne University of Technology seeks to appoint a Distinguished Professor in Electrical Renewable Energy. You will have outstanding experience and demonstrated, internationally-recognised research excellence (through HiCi status) in one or more fields of renewable energy, power electronics, and electrical engineering.

In this role, you will provide leadership and foster excellence in research, research training, professional activities and partnerships, in your academic discipline within the faculty, the University and the wider community. 

As part of this role, from the research base in the School of Software and Electrical Engineering, you will work to establish a new Centre for New Energy Technologies with a focus on renewable energy and electrical power engineering. An objective of the proposed Centre will be to grow and consolidate our expertise, and to expand transdisciplinary collaborations with the Swinburne Research Institutes such as the Smart Cities institute. The role is encouraged to global research collaboration, however Swinburne University of Technology will be the primary university affiliation and that all publications references must count for Swinburne and Swinburne’s ARWU, THE and QS rankings.

About you 
To be successful in the role, you will have:

• An earned doctoral qualification in one or more of the fields of relevance to the Faculty of Science, Engineering and Technology.

• An outstanding research track record, including evidence of national and international research impact and successful supervision of HDR students and researchers.

• Extensive prior experience (10+ years) in research and research management in university or research organisations.
