Sessional Academic - Mechanical and Product Design Engineering

About the job
As one of our Sessional Academics you are expected to prepare and deliver lectures, tutorials and practical sessions to assess students in the relevant mechanical and product design engineering discipline areas both on campus and online. You will be expected to mentor students on academic matters. You will be required to teach into undergraduate and/or postgraduate programs where qualified.

There will also be some administrative tasks associated with normal teaching duties and will also contribute to faculty management and administration generally.

About you
To be successful in the role, you will have:

• A completed a postgraduate (preferably doctorate) degree within a relevant field.
• Demonstrated experience in tertiary teaching in the specific discipline. In particular, teaching experience in one of the following high priority areas:

o Robotics in Manufacturing

o Sustainability and Life Cycle Engineering

o Six Sigma

o Technology Management

o Mechanical Systems Design

o Control Engineering

• Applications for the following general teaching areas in Mechanical and Product Design Engineering are also encouraged:

o Thermodynamics

o Fluid Mechanics

o Solid Mechanics

o Materials and Manufacturing
