Sessional Academic - Computer Science and Software Engineering

About the job
The position is primarily expected to prepare and deliver tutorials, labs and workshops and to assess students in the relevant discipline both on campus and online. The position is also expected to mentor and counsel students on academic matters. This position will teach into undergraduate and/or postgraduate programs where qualified.

The position will assume administrative tasks associated with normal teaching duties and will also contribute to faculty management and administration generally.

About you
To be successful in the role, you will have:

• Applicant must have completed an undergraduate or postgraduate degree within a relevant field OR relevant industry experience.

Demonstrated experience in tertiary teaching in the specific discipline.
• In particular, teaching experience in at least two of the following areas:

• Phone app programming (Android[Java] and iPhone[Swift]), Lecturing may be offered to suitable candidates in the case of iPhone programming

• The Ruby programming language and structured design (in addition to OO design).

• Programming language design and implementation, lambda calculus, automata theory, type systems, and semantics of programming languages.

• Software Engineering, CD/CI and DevOps practices.

• Database (SQL and no-SQL),

• AI algorithms,

• Cybersecurity- especially script injection and network security

• Data structures and algorithms in C++

• ARM assembly and digital electronics,

• Object-Oriented and Procedural programming (C, C++, C#, Java),

• Demonstrated high standard of interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary environment.
