About the job
We are looking for a Senior Lecturer of Systems Engineering to pro-actively contribute to the academic leadership in our Engineering Practice Academy. Through your demonstrated track record in research and teaching, you will contribute to a strong culture of research excellence and industry-linked engineering education. You will have relevant academic experience in systems engineering, and will work within the Engineering Practice Academy to contribute the continued development the Academy’s new engineering practice-based degree.

You will continue to undertake your research and teaching in systems engineering (or related discipline), and contribute to other appropriate professional activities within the Faculty. In research, you will make an independent contribution that expands knowledge, contributing to the Faculty’s research excellence and impact in collaboration with external partners as required. The other aspect of your role, will be to expand our teaching programs to include more innovative practices, deliver executive education and consultancy, and assume administrative tasks associated with normal teaching duties, including developing and supporting academic programs and working with the academic team in the development of program change and innovation.

About you
To be successful in the role, you will have:

• PhD in a relevant discipline

• A strong track record of research as evidenced by publications in high quality journals

• Demonstrated expertise in the designated research discipline, with ability to carry out research projects, both independently and within a broader team
