About the job
Reporting to the Deputy Director, Application Run Team, the Database Lead plays a key role in leading a team of Database Administrators charged with managing Swinburne’s Oracle and SQL Server databases. As a recognised subject matter expert, you will provide consultative advice to senior management on aspects of development, implementation, management and utilisation of the University’s databases and associated application systems.
Given the nature of the University, you will be required to ensure that Swinburne is covered on 24/7 basis for critical incidents, or managing planned system upgrades.
This is an approximate 14 month parental leave backfill position.
About you
To be successful in the role, you will have:
• Demonstrable leadership experience with a track record for developing a highly motivated and enthusiastic team
• Extensive experience in the management of database systems in the following technologies: Oracle / MS-SQL / MySQL / MariaDB
• Ability to assist in solution architecture for database systems considering on-premises or cloud solutions and no relational technologies
