Living at Lifeview

At Lifeview we do things a little differently – residents’ tell us what activities they like to participate in, they direct menu selections and they determine their care preferences. All residents live harmoniously regardless of care levels or abilities, enabling each to thrive in other’s company, enriching the lives of all around them. Residents in all Lifeview homes are able to age-in-place, with our scope of care including high quality palliative care for those approaching the end of life. Lifeview’s homes feature our Home2Home small house model of care. Home2Home is a relationship-based model, where multi-skilled staff (housemates), work with the same group of residents, all the time. Home2Home enables staff to spend more meaningful time within their household, creating better continuity of care and building on already established relationships. All residents feel secure in the knowledge they can access services where their sexual orientation or gender identity is valued and where staff understand their needs. Lifeview’s homes are located in Melbourne’s south eastern suburbs of Chelsea, Emerald, Cranbourne and Wheelers Hill.

Every staff member at Lifeview is carefully selected, not just to make sure they’re suitably qualified for the role, but to also ensure they’re the right cultural fit in meeting our L.I.F.E Principles. Lifeview staff undergo additional training in the clinical and spiritual care of LGBTI+ residents. Pride Champions

Lifeview’s Pride Champions (staff representatives) assist the organisation to optimise its service delivery to Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual, Transgender, Intersex and Queer people by ensuring the service is responsive, inclusive and safe.

Lifeview Marigold

Lifeview is building Australia’s first inner suburban LGBTI+ and friends aged care precinct in Prahran, Victoria. As well as providing aged care living the development will add to the revitalisation of retail along Greville Street, and around Prahran Railway Station, with the ground floor offering differing retail spaces as well as incorporating the heritage listed corner building into its design.
