About RMIT Training
RMIT Training Pty Ltd is a company, owned by RMIT University, based in Melbourne, Australia. We provide a range of education solutions to students, academics and professionals in Melbourne and overseas. Our English Testing centre offers IELTS and PTE tests. We offer English language training with CELTA and Aviation English products. We deliver pathway programs that enable students to articulate into Bachelor programs at university; these include Foundation Studies and Academic English programs.
About the role
RMIT Training has a vision to be a leader in student experience amongst Australian Pathway Centers. The role of the Student Experience Coordinator (SEC) is to assist the Student Experience Manager (SEM) to implement the student engagement strategy and provide an enhanced student experience for international Pathway students to ensure they are RMIT Ready.
In this role, you will work closely with the SEM and the Director Wellbeing and Student Experience to deliver targeted initiatives that support the Pathway student cohorts. You will lead in the delivery of student engagement programs and Pathways Student Club activities, program and promote social and recreational opportunities and provide students with the opportunity to connect with each other. As the SEC, you will promote opportunities provided by RMIT Training and RMIT University to facilitate students interaction with the university and build a campus culture that is vibrant and engaging.
In this role, you will assist in the design and delivery of orientation and graduation programs for pathways students to ensure a smooth entry to RMIT Training, and a seamless transition to RMIT University.
As the SEC, you will work closely with volunteer organisations to drive initiatives that broaden the student experience by providing opportunities for students to connect with the wider community through volunteer work.
This position involves some weekend and evening work outside the normal span of hours, by negotiation.

To be successful in this role you will have:
Experience working with clients or students from diverse cultural backgrounds
Demonstrated proactive, creative and innovative approach to student engagement
Knowledge of the challenges faced by international students
Customer focused approach
Flexibility with working hours in order to conduct activities outside the usual span of hours
Sound administrative, time management and organisational skills
High level of self-motivation, enthusiasm and confidence
Ability to form and maintain a network of contacts within RMIT Training, RMIT University and the broader community
Working with Children Check
Ability to engage target audiences through various social media platforms (desirable)
Experience planning creative arts workshops (desirable)
Ability to communicate in a language other than English (desirable)
First Aid certificate (desirable)
