About the role

As the Research Training Program Manager at RMIT Europe, you will implement the REDI COFUND grant and contribute to the development and growth of RMIT’s doctoral degree cohorts in Europe through successful European Commission Marie-Curie grants and other mechanisms. Working in close collaboration with other staff at RMIT Europe (Education Partnerships Manager, Research Proposals Team, Communications Team) and also with RMIT University’s School of Graduate Research, the Program Manager will:

  • Implement the REDI Cofund grant and coordinate the management team of the REDI Cofund grant.
  • Develop and implement professional development support to RMIT´s European doctoral researchers – known as Early Stage Researchers (ESR) - as per the specific needs mandated by supporting funding schemes and hosting partner requirements. Leverage existing RMIT resources for professional development of European ESRs. 
  • Contribute to the growth plan for RMIT´s doctoral cohorts in Europe and assist in the development of new funding proposals to support this growth.
  • Liaise with SGR to ensure that all RMIT processes and procedures for ESRs are correctly implemented in Europe.

About you

We are seeking a dynamic, proactive and highly motivated individual, who will have experience of but not limited to:

  • Demonstrated strong experience in working with and managing doctoral programmes and associated academic office functions in Europe (selection and recruitment, training, supervisor training, etc.)
  • Demonstrated strong European project management experience in Marie Sk?odowska Curie Actions (MSCA) in particular COFUND and/or ITN projects. 
  • Demonstrated organizational and analytical skills including ability to meet strict deadlines, prioritise and multi-task across a portfolio of projects. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and autonomously (with minimal supervision) and as a member of a multi-disciplinary and agile team to meet project outcomes and milestones. 
  • Experience working with international partners or teams across multiple cultures and timezones.
  • Strong stakeholder’s engagement skills including ability to create and maintain relationships with a large number of partners in academia and industry. 
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) including strong reporting and presentation skills. 
  • Impeccable attention to details and rigor, results-oriented, problem-solving attitude, flexibility and ability to take own initiatives. 

 Qualifications and requirements

Required:

  • Master degree (Business, Science or European Affairs an advantage)
  • 3+ years of experience with management/support of doctoral degree programs.
  • 3+ years of experience with project administration, coordination and management of H2020-MSCA projects (COFUND action is a distinct advantage). 
  • Strong knowledge of the administrative and financial rules of European H2020 projects and more specifically MSCA-COFUND and ITN projects. 
  • Excellent organisational and project management, communication and stakeholder engagement skills in both academic and industry. 
  • High level proficiency in English both written and spoken. 
  • Willingness and availability to travel nationally and internationally. 
  • Eligible to legally work in Spain. 

Preferable:

  • Knowledge of tertiary education sector in Australia.
  • Specific training and/ or qualifications in European project management. 
  • Some ability in Spanish would be beneficial.
