About The Role

Role Location: 833 Collins Street, Docklands VIC 3008

Note: Customer Service Operations are currently piloting remote first ways of working which will see most of us attend the office 1-2 times per month to take part in scheduled office-based activities. 

 

The Business Governance Lead works closely with business stakeholders across Customer Lending Retail team and the broader Customer Service Operations Business Governance Function as a trusted advisor on business governance and assurance. They ensure effective process controls are embedded in our model and draw on their technical experience to enhance and evolve operational standards. 

 

This role in particular is suitable for a candidate with previous Assurance and risk experience to ensure robust management of the Customer Lending Retail portfolio which mainly focuses on end-to-end Home Loan Operations (heavy focus on risk management associated with responsible lending and credit requirements, collateral management and extending to being a key stakeholder to support operational changes across the business).

 

Their key focus areas include:

  • Ensure compliance with ANZ’s established risk management and compliance frameworks.
  • Identify and assist in active remediation of any gaps/uplift required to meet minimum requirements of relevant risk policies.
  • Develop and maintain a risk profile for the business portfolio and active contribution to the broader CSO risk profile as required.
  • Assisting in issue remediation and event reporting / gaps and improvement opportunities in relevant risk management activities for the business portfolio.
  • Maintaining a strong understanding of the external environment, legislative change and regulatory sentiment
  • Develop and deliver risk management capability uplift program across Customer Lending Retail.

    About You

    To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

     

    • Ability to motivate business to view risk as part of everyone’s role and adapt to risk management in an autonomous working environment.
    • A proven ability to develop and implement effective operational risk management solutions, including the ability to identify key risks, risk causes and mitigants, controls and treatments.
    • An ability to analyse and synthesise what’s happening both externally and internally for emerging risks. This includes implementing legislative change and interpreting regulatory sentiment in the context of the business leadership.
    • Willingness to look at things differently, challenge the status quo and innovate to deliver better customer outcomes while satisfying operational risk requirements.
    • Strong stakeholder engagement skills and ability to build relationships and influence effectively.
    • Partner with operational areas to understand the business context and provide specialist guidance and support to create effective control environments.
    • Lead Business Unit and targeted Operational Risk Assessments and be able to identify risk metrics and lead Risk Forums.
