About the role

The Lead Solution Consultant understands IT requirements from a business perspective and translates them into a form that can be understood and acted on by those tasked with building the solution.

In the role you will provide expert advice to the Business, Technology Engagement, Delivery and Operation teams, lead and mentor other Solution Consultants within the team as well as handle the demand management and fostering relationships with key stakeholders.

 

Key Accountabilities include:

  • Coordinate with stakeholders to understand business problems and develop effective solutions.
  • Work with Architects to design the solution that best meets the customers requirements;
  • Oversee the demand queue and management of pipeline and assignment to appropriate team;
  • Implement process improvements for business solution analysis and delivery methodologies;
  • Take responsibility for eliciting high level business requirements and translating those into system functionality using, document analysis, requirement workshops, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis;
  • Develop and recommend solution proposals and service offerings, through preparation of high level scope, budget and justification reports;
  • Provide expert advice to the Portfolio Delivery Team and BTP, while maintaining an in-depth knowledge of information technology, techniques, methods, products and the application of those within the education sector;
  • Build and maintain engagement briefs and supporting documentation, while facilitating the commencement and handover of solution delivery in accordance with the project management processes of the University;
  • Provide leadership, mentoring, support and guidance for the Solution Consultants and within Engagement Team

 

About You

You will have started your career in technical roles and evolved into to Analysis and Consultant related positions. You will be highly adept in consulting on the high level design and proposing implementation of business solutions based on an architectural framework. You will be an accomplished people leader, and successfully handled resource and project demands.

In addition, you will possess:

  • Strong consulting background and understanding of the application of Information Technologies within the education sector.
  • Extensive experience of designing and implementing strategies within a large and complex organisation, including an understanding of business process complexity, cost and revenue drivers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with proven ability to negotiate with, influence and build consensus with a wide range of stakeholders, including the most senior members of management.
  • Experience with the application of data models, technology standards, architecture guidelines and in project/risk management techniques.
  • Outcomes-focussed, with the ability to work autonomously, delivering quality outcomes to agreed deadlines.
  • Strong analytical problem solving and change leadership skills.

 

Qualifications

Bachelor of Computer Studies (or equivalent)

CBAP certification

Agile Certification i.e Scrum, SAFe (preferred)
