The mission of ANZs Secure Internet Services squad is to keep the bank safe by allowing secure access to the Internet
Key activities that support this mission
- Manage user and application proxies
- Enable secure connection to cloud services
- Manage network taps to provide network visibility for SOC
Key Priorities
- Maintain on-prem user and application proxies
- Maintain cloud proxies
- Enable new applications and new services to securely access the internet
- Replace end of life proxy devices
- Work with Network and Cloud Security squad to design cloud proxy architecture
- Monitor incident queue
- Raise changes for upgrades/patches etc.
- Documentation
- Assist squad in delivering initiative when needed.
- Rostered on-call

What you bring to the role as an Engineer, Secure Internet Services
- Have a thirst and willingness to expand knowledge with new technologies bringing benefits into the Tribe
- Experienced in one or more roles previously eg: Front/Back end Engineer, Operations Engineer, Integration Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer, Security Engineer, Service Desk etc
- Ability to triage and diagnose defects/issues
- Experienced working with operations and architecture groups developing scalable and supportable solutions (desired but not mandatory)
- Understand customer needs to make sound judgments
- Pays attention to the detail and demonstrates problem solving capability to develop and deliver quality solutions
- Understanding of current state landscape and relevant technologies
- Has a broad understanding of how to apply New Ways of Working to their role
- What were looking for...
- A degree in information security or computer science or cyber security or information technology.
- Extensive years of technical experience, including strong experience in security services.
- Proven hands-on experience in the following technology: Splunk, Phantom, Ansible, Palo Alto, Web proxy technologies
- Industry certification such as CISSP or CCSE or SANS and/or other Security certifications, such as GCIA or GCIH or CEH.
- Proficient development skills with Python, with experience in leveraging REST APIs to integrate disparate security technologies.
- DevOps background - Experience with Automation tools (Puppet, Bamboo, Ansible) and creating CI/CD pipelines from scratch
- A good foundation in designing, and managing the deployment of security architectures that leverage a wide range of security tools, infrastructure. Experience in Linux and networking is required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and be capable to present information to management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
