About the role

You will be responsible for carrying out teaching activities within undergraduate, Masters and Graduate Diploma programs and for maintaining and advancing your scholarly, research and/or professional capabilities.  You will also actively promote the program by establishing and maintaining memberships, links and partnerships with academic, industry and professional communities.  You will be expected to work collaboratively and collegially with fellow academics within the teaching team, and update colleagues and students on developments in their subject area or specialisation. 

About you 

You will demonstrate the ability to prepare and deliver programs in your field of expertise at undergraduate and post-graduate levels, including online delivery, and the ability to produce high quality curriculum or program materials. You will have an emerging track record and recognition for quality research outputs in disciplines related to your field of expertise and be able to contribute to the further development of excellence at RMIT and the School of Economics, Finance and Marketing. Demonstrated ability to supervise higher degree by research candidates and the ability to build effective networks with colleagues and generate alternative funding projects through effective liaison with industry and government will be imperative to your success in this role. In addition, you will have excellent interpersonal and communications skills appropriate for interacting with higher degree by research candidates, staff and industry, together with a strong commitment to teamwork and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Applications are welcome across our three disciplines, but applicants must demonstrate research and teaching competencies in at least one of the following sub-areas (no other areas to be considered at this time):

  • Marketing – Marketing Analytics, Digital Marketing
  • Finance – Quantitative Finance, Behavioural Finance, Funds Management
  • Economics – Societal Economics, Health Economics, Behavioural Business, International Development

Qualifications

Mandatory: Mandatory: PhD (or substantial progress to a PhD) or have been an active candidate for the PhD for at least two years.

Appointment to this position is subject to passing a Working with Children check.

Preferred: Completion of the Essentials in Tertiary Teaching Practice program or equivalent (if the appointed candidate does not meet this requirement at time of appointment, they will be supported to complete this as a requirement to fulfil their probation).

To be eligible to apply candidates must have performed casual teaching work at an Australian University within the past three years and must not have been employed on a continuing basis at an Australian University.
