About the Job
In this role, we will expect you to assist Swinburne international students by providing the most pertinent and up to date safety, community and Swinburne support information needed to enable international students to succeed in their studies and live with confidence in Australia.
With a customer-service focus, you will provide support services to international students studying Swinburne’s programs in Australia. The International Student Advisor’s provide operational input to the development and implementation of pro-active activities and events to ensure the most appropriate support for international students throughout their lifecycle with Swinburne. The team also provides best practice critical incident support for students and their families if an unfortunate illness or accident should affect them.

About you
To be successful in the role, you will have:
• A degree with subsequent relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/ or education/ training
• Experience in supporting international students with a strong customer-service focus, demonstrated cultural sensitivity and strong understanding of cross-cultural communication
• Experience in developing practical problem-solving solutions to guide positive outcomes
• Experience in the development, coordination and promotion of a range of student focused activities and events
• Highly developed written(using MS Office suite), verbal and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to tailor different styles to diverse audiences
