Uniting is seeking a compassionate Ordained Minister or suitably qualified lay person to fill a full time placement as Chaplaincy Convenor – Southern NSW region.

This is a key leadership role within the Chaplaincy Team.

We are seeking to call a confident, prophetic and organised leader with a background in Chaplaincy.

As the Chaplaincy Convenor - Southern NSW, the successful applicant will support our programs across the Southern NSW region with  location base by arrangement within the region or at Uniting Sydney office. This position is a key leadership function within the Uniting Mission team. It is responsible for recruiting, supervising, leading and developing teams of Chaplains and Pastoral Practitioners to deliver a high level of differentiated quality spiritual and pastoral support to staff and clients of Uniting.

This role is focused on providing innovative, ethical and theological input to service users and staff while offering pastoral support and leadership to Regional team members and staff of Uniting.

Applicants must have Tertiary qualifications in Theology or equivalent experience, Completion of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) or equivalent, demonstrated understanding of and experience in working in and leading teams across a large, complex and preferably not-for-profit organization, significant experience in leading and developing people , excellent knowledge and understanding of the Uniting Church and its polity, structure, systems and processes, a demonstrated passion for social change and creating an organisation of influence for the most disadvantaged, skilled at navigating a complex organisation, forging relationships, and managing through influence rather than direct authority as required

Working hours and Terms of Placement are in accordance with the Guidelines of the Uniting Church, Synod of NSW and the ACT and calls for the Chaplaincy Convenor to adhere to the polity and ethos of the Uniting Church, and the Mission Vision and Values of Uniting.
