The Digital Engineering team within our eCommerce Customer Experience and Technology (CXT) function is growing and we are looking for Lead Software Engineer - Commerce Services to join our Digital Engineering team. Build and deliver world-class software, line manage and provide technical leadership to a team of engineers.

What you’ll be doing

You will be responsible for building and delivering world-class software, line managing and providing technical leadership to a team of engineers.

 

You’ll also:

  • Facilitate agile scrum practices within the team and offer support to delivery managers in defining timelines and project requirements
  • Facilitate and govern peer reviews and testing standards
  • Empower and develop the engineering team’s skills and  play a part in building a high-performing team and a fun working culture.

 

Good things you’ll need

We’re after a highly skilled and seasoned software engineer with payments and financial industry experience.

 

You’ll also need:

  • Seasoned software engineer
  • Extensive experience with one or more programming languages and frameworks – e.g. Java, Spring, React, Angular, Node.js, etc.
  • Experience with one or more major ecommerce platforms – e.g. HCL Commerce, Salesforce, Magento, commercetools, etc.
  • Extensive experience with ecommerce, microservice and serverless architectures
  • Good exposure to Agile Scrum working environments
  • Experience working in large scale projects and heavy-traffic platforms
  • Ability to drive and enforce software engineering practices
  • Experience managing relationships with senior leaders
  • Excellent analytical and problem resolution skills
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
  • Familiar with SQL databases
  • Experience in a cloud environment desirable
  • Experience with containerisation & release pipelines desirable
