Work Agile in multidisciplinary teams. You wont be faced with traditional hierarchies. Instead, working Agile means you will be constantly testing, iterating, and making rapid decisions as you go. You will get to self-organise and work in squads consisting of developers, ops engineers, customer journey experts and product owners who come from different domains.
Own it. Most importantly, youll get to deliver end to end service, and shape how ANZ delivers on their commitment to providing great customer service through technology.
What will your day look like?
As Chapter Lead, within Business Services, you will be responsible for delivering greenfield products, managing a cross-skilled squad to deliver new business services.
As part of this role you will be both building and utilizing vendor solutions, and we will be looking to you to provide advice on the right mix of solutions, and whether vendor products meet the required level of engineering. As an engineer within this team, you will be responsible for defining our development tooling and work with our platform teams to help shape the CI/CD pipelines.
As Chapter Lead, you are also responsible for building world class capability in your chapter. Youll be a promoter and ambassador of the new culture and ways of working. You will bring domain knowledge or deep expertise on a specific topic and develop this expertise and T-shaped capability in your chapter members. Along with Product Owners and coaches, Chapter Leads care for and nurture the growth of their chapter members to ensure they are inspired by a sense of purpose and are continually building their mastery and autonomy. Chapter Leads are not full-time managers, they work as a squad member for ~60% of their time and manage people (across squads) for ~40% of their time.
At Engineering@ANZx we have a you build it, you run it culture. So for the products and platforms you help build, youll get to take ownership for ensuring they launch and run smoothly for our customers, giving you real exposure to the full lifecycle. To support this, our Engineers may need to operate during non-standard hours, ensuring continued service and/or being available to support technical outages.
