This is an exciting opportunity for a Business Analyst who's looking for a 4 day per week position.  The role is being offered as 12 month Fixed Term maternity leave cover.

 

 

What you'll be doing

 

You are a finance person with experience in driving and delivering finance transformation.  As the Business Analyst (Trading Terms and Rebates) you'll be responsible for completing the financial accounting activities (including month end close activities) for Rebates as required along with;

 

  • Support maintenance of Trading Terms in accordance with Coles policies
  • Completion of month-end close activities supporting month-end reporting for Rebates as required
  • Ensure appropriate procedures and systems are in place to allow verification that rebates received from supplier is correctly recognised, collected and reported
  • Where supplier payment is not received, follow accrual/contingency claim procedures to ensure income is correctly reported
  • Ensure Trading Terms agreement published to supplier meets Coles Policies standards and have appropriate approvals.
  • Ensure appropriate procedures are followed in place to validate that agreed trading terms with the suppliers are recorded correctly in Coles systems.
  • Maintain up to date document repository of vendor information and trading terms,
  • Ensure effective management of Merch and supplier queries.
  • Provide reports to Merch, Treasury, Compliance and Government bodies to meet requirements
  • Support key financial accounting activities that support financial integrity of Rebates general ledger balances

 

 

Good things you'll need

 

  • Tertiary accounting qualification (Bachelor of Commerce or similar)
  • CA/CPA preferred but not essential
  • Experience with accounting for commercial income/rebates and management of trading terms or similar role (5 + years)
  • Financial control experience within an organisation preferred but not essential
  • Experience working with large corporates. Retail experience required
  • Experience collaborating and coordinating with a broad range of stakeholders across a business
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Exceptional analytical and insight skills (strong Excel/modelling skills) #LI-FIN
