About the role

In this role, you will be the key point of contact and support to the Coles Express Regional Operations team and other internal stakeholders to ensure the region continues to improve in the areas of responsibility to enable them to achieve their Regional strategic HSE objectives

What you’ll be doing

Work closely with the regional operations team to help them effectively manage risk, incidents, and compliance in the areas of Safety, Injury Management and Environmental. The role will support the successful implementation of the National HSE management system and help achieve the Coles Express strategic objectives.

Other ways you can make an impact include:

• Support regional management team to apply skills and knowledge to effectively manage HSE
• Support knowledge sharing within both the national HSE team and wider Coles Express business
• Conduct incident investigations and develop sustainable corrective actions and follow up
• Support the operation in Injury Management
• Act as a conduit with internal insurance teams to support and drive improvements in the area of worker compensation

Good things you’ll need

• tertiary qualification in the area/s of safety, injury management, environment, and food safety
• demonstrated in-depth knowledge, understanding and application across the areas of health & safety, workers compensation & injury management and environmental compliance
• highly developed skills and experience dealing with confidential and sensitive issues and providing expert advice on strategic, operational, and relevant statutory matters
• Effective communication and negotiation skills #LI-BU
