Head of Finance and Procurement Technology (55294)

 

What you’ll be doing

 

As part of the broader Technology team, Corporate Systems are responsible for the development and support of applications across multiple enterprise platforms including Finance, Procurement, People & Culture, Risk, Safety and Legal.? 

Corporate Systems is an integral part of some key initiatives including SAP, Microsoft, and Salesforce implementations, increasing cloud capability and digitising multiple manually intensive processes. 

 

You will be required to Lead the evolution of Finance & Procurement applications, accountable for technology strategy, transformation, and operations. You will have overall accountability of the Finance and Procurement technology platform’s performance, including supporting growth, innovation and transformation. You will also drive an ongoing focus on continuous improvement and evolution of the Finance and Procurement engineering processes and systems.

 

Ideally you will have extensive experience translating multiple business strategies into a Technology roadmap and deliverables, aligned with business strategic direction. This includes Transformational Program Delivery, inclusive of technology solutions that land change and business benefits.

 

You will have previous experience developing and maintaining the technology roadmap, working in collaboration with architecture, technology strategy and business team members.  This includes the delivery of change programs, inclusive of technology, Translating the business strategy into Finance and Procurement technology platform requirements, people capability and processes, and assisting in the preparation of business cases.

 

Your stakeholder management and relationship building skills are exceptional and a key requirement for this role. You will provide a single point of accountability for engagement with business stakeholders on their strategy and translating this into an IT roadmap, business cases and deliverables.

You will drive transformational opportunities by providing thought leadership and innovation opportunities to business stakeholders.  This also includes embedding compliance requirements into business planning and practices and establishing and maintaining effective governance practices across areas of responsibility.

 

You will have exceptional leadership skills and previous experience managing, developing, mentoring your team members. This includes professional development and coaching of leaders and other team members, career and Succession Planning for team and the ability to build and motivate a broad diverse team consisting of internal team members (direct and in-direct) and external partners

Key aspects of the role include:

-executive / senior business engagement

-sponsoring large scale program delivery

-critical application support

-team engagement and people initiative

 

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Demonstrated experience in software engineering preferred
  • Experience delivering transformative programmes of work in Finance, Human Resources, or Procurement is preferred and highly regarded
  • Strong understanding of industry trends in software engineering and broader software architecture
  • Experience with building and deploying solutions leveraging Cloud platforms (Azure and/or AWS and/or Google)
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Internal consulting, requirements definition and stakeholder management skills
  • Presentation of well-thought-out analysis of data with exceptional clarity and focus on key business and customer outcomes
  • Experience managing department and project budgets
  • Extensive experience negotiating with third party suppliers, including development of critical partnerships and joint ventures
  • Ability to communicate effectively to all levels of the organisation under pressure
  • Effective engagement with a broad cross section of business

 

Good things you’ll need

 

  • Extensive technology experience preferably working across Finance and/or Procurement and/or broader corporate IT systems.
  • Broad experience in delivering digital solutions
  • Proven track record in developing technology strategies, together with delivery and execution
  • Demonstrated ability to effect change in both small and large-scale change programs
  • Demonstrated ability to manage process and technology outsourcing services
  • Proven track record in building high-performing teams and managing technology systems for business-critical functions.
  • Knowledge and experience of digital technologies and their application across team member experiences.
  • Vendor management experience essential.
