What you’ll be doing

 

With three iconic brands (First Choice, Liquorland and Vintage Cellars) to our name, our Liquor team is well on its way to becoming Australia’s favourite drinks retailer, serving up everything from premium wines and craft beers, to spirits from local distilleries. We’re passionate about understanding what our customers enjoy, and have people working across supply chain, marketing, finance and strategy to make this happen

 

You will help manage and grow the engineering capability across Liquor IT, defining and driving best practice whilst ensuring the successful deliver of the Liquor IT portfolio, leading change in a safe and secure manner.

As a member of the team you will be required to develop and build solutions based on the relevant technology platform to meet both business and technical requirements, while demonstrating a level of leadership across the team including engineers and other project team members.

A key requirement is experience with Azure services (Azure SQL Services, Azure Data Factory, Azure DevOps) and SQL (Scripting, CDC enabled table loads, understanding of schemas, views, tables, stored procedures, and ability to understand query processing.

 

 

Key responsibilities will include:

 

  • 7+ years’ experience supporting large, complex organisations requiring stakeholder management.
  • Experience with Azure services (Azure SQL Services, Azure Data Factory, Key Vault, Blob storage, ADLS, Azure DevOps)
  • Ability to manage the ETL environment, troubleshoot failed pipelines, Integrate new pipeline from various data sources.
  • Extensive SQL skills, CDC enabled table loads vs bulk loads, an understanding of schemas, views, tables, stored procedures, ability to understand query processing.
  • Experience in MSBI tool sets (SSIS/SSAS/SSRS)
  • Understanding of Event Hub and Azure Functions and experience with source control using TFS, Git and DevOps.
  • Design and development of existing solutions and customisations for in house SQL database applications and ETL.
  • Experience with cloud tools and processes for ingestion, storage and including batch and streaming solutions.
  • Develop detailed technical design specifications, implementation plans and system documentation, unit testing, integration testing and automated acceptance testing.
  • Manage all aspects of continuous integration, source code management and deployment processes

 

 

Good things you’ll need

 

  • Tertiary degree relating to IT or related field preferred
  • Experience working in a digital-first organisation with a strong customer-centric focus.
  • A demonstrated capability in writing clean, well thought out, and reliable code
  • Understanding of: digital ecosystem, software development lifecycle, development methodologies (including Agile), enterprise architecture principles, usability and accessibility.
  • Highly collaborative style, able to engage with a diverse range of stakeholder to meet targets.
  • Retail experience preferred
  • Good to have ERP experience (SAP or Microsoft AX )
