Bridging the gap between our suppliers, distribution centres and stores, our Supply Chain team works with thousands of trusted businesses every day. We work hard to make life easier, safer and more sustainable across our network, as well as maintain the availability and quality of our products for our customers.

 

We’re looking for an exceptional Pallet Controller to join our team at the Parkinson Distribution Centre (DC).

 

The role

 

As the Pallet Controller, based at our Parkinson DC, you’ll play a key part in providing process and system advice to the business in relation to equipment control and management. You’ll develop, implement and help maintain standard operating procedures across the distribution centres and brandish ideas on how to effectively communicate these.

Other ways in which you can make an impact include:

  • Adapting and following best practices to optimise performance, sharing insights and opportunities to improve with internal teams and trading partners.
  • Training and supporting staff on the importance of equipment control and on key processes and procedures.
  • Managing Coles pooling assets through pallet control system.
  • Managing the expense of pallets and other External Owned Assets (EOA), including daily, weekly and monthly reporting.
  • Promoting an organisational culture which recognises the value of reusable equipment and equipment control.

 

Good things you’ll need

We’re looking for an experienced Pallet Controller who has experience working in a fast paced environment

you’ll also need

  • a strong problem-solving ability coupled with the capacity to identify areas for continuous improvement, as well as design and implement solutions through root cause analysis
  • previous equipment control experience and knowledge of cloud-based control systems
  • a high level of comfort building and maintaining effective working relationships with internal team members, trading partners and customers
  • the ability to work autonomously and in a team environment across all levels of the organisation
  • high attention to detail and accuracy
  • strong time management and organisational skills
  • the ability to build relationships and influence key stakeholder groups (internally and externally)
  • a familiarity with working in a fast paced and constantly changing environment

a high level of proficiency with Microsoft products (preferably MS Excel)
