About the Role
We are seeking a quality driven professional to join our Research Analytics Services team within Swinburne Research. As the Research Evaluation Specialist, you will be responsible for a range of duties and tasks required to plan and prepare the University’s submission to the Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA) initiative, due in 2023 and the Engagement and Impact (EI) assessment exercise, due in 2024.

Under the general direction of the Manager Research Analytics Services, you will work across the institution and collaborate with discipline leaders, library repository team and researchers to develop and execute processes to assist with the operational needs of the project and ensure that the tasks related to identifying, selecting and sourcing ERA peer review material and EI case studies and engagement narratives are effectively and precisely executed. You will manage general administration requirements and provide operational support for the project, including the interpretation, application and communication of submission guidelines and related material to senior staff, preparing data and reports, and organising regular meetings required with discipline leaders, researchers and professional support staff.

To be successful in this role, you will have excellent communication skills, high level organisational skills and attention to detail. You will be expected to anticipate problems and work towards common sense solutions and use discretion when handling information. Time management skills and the ability to prioritise competing demands are essential.

About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:
  • Excellent judgement skills and the ability to advise academic staff on the selection of items, including creative works, in line with external guidelines and university strategy.
  • Demonstrated experience with policy driven enquiries and procedures.
  • Proven high level administrative skills with ability to digitise material, and to edit and manipulate a range of documents and file types.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to provide comprehensive written communications and the capacity to understand and communicate specialist information.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA) and Engagement and Impact (EI) initiative guidelines with experience in a similar role will be highly regarded.

Qualifications
  • A degree with subsequent relevant experience; or
  • Extensive relevant experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
