About the Role 
As the new Associate Director, Industry Research Engagement for Manufacturing, Built Environment, Supply Chain & Logistics you will lead the development of research-focused collaboration and engagement across the University to deliver to the Research Strategy and external revenue targets. Working across the research ecosystem, the role will lead the development of external partner (business, government and NGO) research-focused business collaboration in the manufacturing, built environment, supply chain and logistics sectors.  The incumbent will be responsible for growing new partnerships and research funding to align with targets established in the Strategy.

Reporting to the Director, Industry Engagement, the role will be a member of the Industry Research Engagement Team. The role will support researchers across the University as required but predominantly from the Manufacturing Futures Research Institute and the Schools of Engineering

Engineering and Software and Electrical Engineering accessing capability to support the Manufacturing, Built Environment and Supply Chain and Logistics related sectors

Swinburne’ partners extensively with manufacturers in areas such as sustainable and next generation materials, clean and smart energy, circular economy, etc that contribute to the built environment, supply chain and logistics sectors.

 
About You  
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities: 

•  Completion of a postgraduate tertiary qualification or equivalent experience, in technology/business management and/or a relevant technical discipline.

•  Demonstrated high level interpersonal skills including the ability to build and maintain effective networks, develop collaborations and partnerships at senior levels with a diverse range of external partners.

•  Demonstrated commercial acumen and experience working with industry from the manufacturing, built environment, supply chain & logistics sectors.

•  A demonstrated track record of successful development of research funding, translation and/or commercialisation opportunities or other relevant initiatives. 

 
Qualifications
