About the Role

Actively engage with and provide support to four males with disability living in supported independent living in French’s Forest. To provide best support, you will understand and have confidence in working with behaviours of concern.

Candidates will have experience and confidence in working with behaviours of concern and be available for a minimum of 20 hours per fortnight which may include weekend, evenings, days and active night shifts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in person-centred active support
  • Understand and follow behaviour support plans
  • Support clients in doing activities they enjoy to achieve their goals
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, their families and your team
  • Advocate for client choice and control
  • Assist in household chores (cooking and cleaning) as required
  • Documentation and record-keeping

Skills & Experience

  • Unrestricted Australian driver’s licence
  • Previous experience working with Behaviour Support Plans
  • Confidence in working with behaviours of concern
  • First Aid and CPR certificates

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including a National Criminal History Record Check and obtain an NDIS Clearance.

To be considered for and appointed to a position at Life Without Barriers, you must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with a minimum of two (2) doses or hold a valid medical exemption certificate, in accordance with Life Without Barriers Employee COVID-19 Vaccination Policy. You will be required to provide evidence of your vaccination status during the recruitment process.
