About You
To be suitable for this role you will have:
- A deep passion for research and innovation with impact, and customer-facing deal activity from discovery to win.
- Advanced project management skills, including CRM (salesforce) to plan and implement successful customer engagement programs and reporting requirements.
- Exceptional ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with target constituencies, broker research funding, and close deals.
- Strong competency in implementing strategies and tactics to drive new growth opportunities and maintain existing relationships supported by co-designed marketing and communication plans.
- Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, as well as the utilization of excellent verbal and listening skills for high performance teaming, facilitation, and relationship-building.
About the Role
The Associate Director Business Development (Clean Energy Transition) is a member of the Business Development and Industry Engagement team, reporting directly to the Director Business Development and Industry Engagement within the Innovation and Enterprise Portfolio.
The purpose of the role is to work across the University’s research, development, and enterprise ecosystem driving, qualifying, and securing major new multidisciplinary collaborations with industry, government, business and community to maximise both the impact of our research and innovation - and achieve a commercial return.
The Associate Director Business Development will work across a designated industry sector spanning target constituencies and will bring the voice of the industry and customer to our internal teams. Deploying sector-based sales strategies using business insight, thoughtful analysis, evaluation, workshops and reporting the role will enable knowledge-sharing and understanding of targeted ecosystem trends and competitors.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
