We are currently looking for a part time Disability Support Worker for our group home in Box Hill South. In this role you will be responsible for providing a tailored service for people with disabilities, across their life cycle and in all domains of life, to enable access to a life of dignity, respect and social inclusion in the least restrictive environment.

As the successful applicant you will work to facilitate the delivery of quality services and achieve positive outcomes with and for the clients within the house. We are looking for someone who is open to arrange of experiences and is willing to implement behaviour management strategies.

The roster details are outlined as hours per fortnight below:

Fortnightly Split roster:

  • Fortnight 1: 53:00
  • Fortnight 2: 48:30

This roster contains predominantly morning and evening shifts, some split shifts. Including 7 Sleep over shifts per month.

About the role

This is a challenging but rewarding opportunity for you to make a positive change in the lives of People with a Disability.

Working in a team, you will facilitate the delivery of quality services and achieve positive outcomes with service users in a positive and proactive environment. You will be actively supporting their individual needs and creating a safe environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Day to day care (including personal care) and supervision
  • Community Access & Transport
  • Maintain & Monitor Person Centred Plans
  • Documenting & Progress Note keeping
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with our clients and their families

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum Cert IV Qualified in Disability, Community Welfare or similar
  • Current First Aid & CPR Certificates
  • Current Victorian Driver’s Licence
  • A commitment to supporting and promoting the individual needs, skills, abilities, and personal goals of people with disabilities
  • The ability to develop a positive relationship with service users and to support their Individual Personal Plan

To be considered for and appointed to a position at Life Without Barriers, you must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with a minimum of two (2) doses or hold a valid medical exemption certificate, in accordance with Life Without Barriers Employee COVID-19 Vaccination Policy. You will be required to provide evidence of your vaccination status during the recruitment process.

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check (where relevant to the role).
