Disability Support Worker (Female). Casual - Ipswich

About the Role

As a Disability Support Worker, you will be dedicated to making a positive impact in the lives of individuals in your local Ipswich community. We have casual positions available with flexible hours where you will provide active, person centred support to people with disabilities. You will support an energetic young woman who has a passion for arts, crafts, and pets, an exciting opportunity for cat lovers!

In this role you will be required to provide transportation in your own vehicle, so a valid Australian Drivers Licence and your own registered and insured vehicle is a requirement. Successful candidates will be available to work throughout the week, including day shifts and sleepover shifts on weekends.

Key Responsibilities

• Follow person-centred support plans and behaviour support plans respectfully
• Participate in community activities and encourage clients to perform daily living tasks
• Track and document an individual’s progress through thorough record-keeping
• Build and maintain positive relationships with our clients and their families
• Commitment to a 24/7 roster, including sleepover shifts & weekends

Skills & Experience

• Qualifications in Disability and/or previous industry experience will be highly regarded but not a necessity
• Strong communication and relationship building skills
• Proactive and energetic approach to providing support
• Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
• Unrestricted Australian Drivers Licence and own reliable vehicle

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check.

To be considered for and appointed to a position at Life Without Barriers, you must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with a minimum of two (2) doses or hold a valid medical exemption certificate, in accordance with Life Without Barriers Employee COVID-19 Vaccination Policy.
