About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity which will commence mid January 2024, reporting to the Property Manager you will be a pivotal member of the Property Division, you will manage the Fit Out and Construction of commercial offices and residential properties across Life Without Barriers nationally.  You will also support the Property Manager with the planning and delivering of projects.

This is a 12 month full time maximum term contract, this role has the flexibility to work from your preferred location, whether that is your home or from an LWB office.  There will be occasions when you will be expected to work from the office and travel will be part of this role, 3 to 4 days per month, this may vary from month to month.

Key Responsibilities

  • Overseeing and directing in collaboration with the property manger the construction fitouts from conception to completion
  • Create and maintain project schedules for all fitouts and construction projects
  • Administering the contract throughout the project
  • Ensuring all project files and certifications are in place for the successful handover to the clients
  • Maintaining an effective and efficient records management system
  • Attend to and Coordinate Move Day (Relocation) activities as the on the ground Project Manager
  • Successfully manage the development, planning, execution and delivery of nominated projects utilising relevant project management systems and tools
  • Contribute to the development of project briefs and service proposals
  • Manage project-level budget/s, schedules and resource allocations
  • Prepare weekly project status reports
  • Manage in collaboration with the property manager residential new builds and renovations with subcontractors

Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrated experience delivering commercial office / residential or retail fitouts
  • Ability to successfully deliver project outcomes; including setting and managing budgets and control of budgets
  • Experience in managing and leading a team of subcontractors to deliver business outcomes
  • Experience in managing competing priorities and to deliver high quality outcomes within agreed timeframes
  • Demonstrated experience to persuasively and effectively negotiate and conflict and crisis management
  • Working knowledge of relevant legislative and regulatory environment for areas of business responsibility
  • A sound understanding of AS 1428.1 would be beneficial
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgement within the context of risk management
  • Problem solving skills and ability to think laterally and strategically
  • Demonstrated written communication skills for the creation of reports, correspondence and other material
  • Strong verbal communication skills and presentation ability
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of programs and ability to pick up systems and databases quickly
  • Current driver's licence

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check (where relevant to the role).
