About the Role

As Aged Care Support Leader, you will lead a team of Aged Care Support Workers across the Northern Territory and Western Australia, providing supervision and support to ensure quality service delivery.  Working closely with Care Coordinators and the Rostering Team, you will ensure that the services provided meet the needs of our aged care clients and comply with relevant policies and procedures.  This is a new permanent, full time opportunity, reporting into the Workforce Support Manager, and based from either North Qld or the Northern Territory, although for the right candidate the location may be remote.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide supervision and support to team members to ensure that they can perform
  • their duties effectively.
  • Monitor and review the performance of team members and provide feedback as
  • required.
  • Monitor, approve and notify Rostering of leave requests in line with LWB policy.
  • Promote a positive environment and culture by demonstrating effective communication, interpersonal skills, and appropriate peer support.
  • Model appropriate conflict resolution, communication, and positive behaviour management skills.
  • Escalate any issues of concern to the Program Manager immediately, particularly where a serious risk of harm or to reputation is apparent.
  • Ensure the team delivers services in a professional and caring manner, and in compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
  • Ensure Support Workers are adequately trained and equipped to perform their duties.
  • Develop, strong, positive, and responsive communication with Rostering team.
Skills & Experience
  • Qualification in Human Services or related discipline.
  • Current Drivers licence
  • Demonstrated experience in people management and leadership of a remote team.
  • Experience in facilitating online and face to face training and ability to test, evaluate and record competency.
  • Experience in coordination and delivery of quality care in a community setting.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a flexible and innovative way in responding to the needs of clients.
  • Working knowledge of the relevant Aged Care legislation and standards.
  • Knowledge of services for frail elderly, people with dementia and their carers, including people with culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
  • Highly developed analytical skills
  • High level communication, liaison, negotiation and mediation skills. 
  • Strong coordination, leadership and peer support skills.
