Aged Care Support Worker. Permanent Part Time - Cardwell

About the Role

As a Support Worker, you will assist elderly Australians in Cardwell and surrounding local areas, supporting their personalised needs to continue living independently in their own homes. This role involves providing personal care, social support, and household assistances including light cleaning. We have flexible hours available where you will assist multiple clients throughout the day, so a valid Australian Drivers Licence is a requirement of this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Social supports including attendance to medical appointments, social activities in the local community and support in building/maintaining social networks
• In-home supports inclusive of meal preparation and assistance with daily living
• Personal care including showering, daily hygiene, monitoring of health and well-being
• Domestic assistance may be included. This consists of light cleaning duties, changing of bed linen, washing/laundry, and more

  Skills & Experience

• A current Australian Drivers Licence and a reliable, insured vehicle
• Certificate III in Aged Care or similar and/or other relevant industry experience
• A current First Aid and CPR Certificate
• Prior experience working in the community with ageing clients is highly regarded
• The ability to develop positive relationships with clients and to support their individual care plans as appropriate
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check.
