A rare opportunity has arisen at The Star Gold Coast. We are seeking a Director of Events to lead and be responsible for the operational performance of our successful Events Department.
About the role
This role will see you joining Southeast Queenslands most exciting hospitality workplace, with further ongoing developments and growth planned and underway for our Gold Coast Events team, as our resort continues to expand. In this role, you will report to the General Manager Food & Beverage, Events and play a key role in the overall success of The Star Gold Coast Events team.
As Director, your key priorities will be to lead the events operational teams on making growth focused decisions that balance the needs of all stakeholders and the business, demonstrate passion for the business and achieving positive results for The Star Gold Coast. You will empower team members to try new things, actively communicate the benefits of continuous improvement for the business and advocate for change, whilst motivating others as well as constructively challenging how things are done, to ensure that the best outcome is achieved.
You will actively manage the talent in your team to motivate and recognise high performance and coach others to develop into high performers. The successful candidate will actively hold others accountable for their performance and delivering on set goals and be responsible for taking ownership of the role including communications & relationships with our key stakeholders, customers and broader business.
The successful candidate will create a team environment where people take accountability for their behaviour and commitments, and you will look to create best in class operational excellence as well as ensuring high standards of compliance and workplace safety are embedded in all practices and processes.
