Join our team as the Assistant Housekeeping Manager at The Star Brisbane. 

The Star Brisbane, positioned at the heart of the new Queen’s Wharf Brisbane precinct, will be Australia’s newest entertainment and leisure destination. Commencing a staged opening in 2024, The Star Brisbane will bring a range of unique entertainment options, world class hotels, dining, bars, luxury retail, gaming, and a state-of-the-art Event Centre, transforming how people will play, shop, and socialise in the river city. 

The role of Assistant Housekeeping Manager, reporting directly to the Executive Housekeeper, offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with the Executive Housekeeper in establishing, executing, and assessing service standards. In this role, you will also assist with operational requirements ensuring a professional, efficient, and effective process. 

This is a fantastic opportunity where you can put your skills and knowledge to the test to deliver a thrilling new era for housekeeping. 

A few of your responsibilities 

  • Promote meticulous attention to detail, share methods and ideas to support team goals, and inspire exceptional guest experiences 

  • Establish clear daily performance targets for Housekeeping Supervisors and oversee the service workflow and performance of all team members 

  • Effectively handle the scheduling and rostering of the housekeeping department while adhering to operating budgets 

  • Conduct pre-arrival inspections of VIP guests' rooms to ensure that room presentation aligns with the required standards 

  • Continuously monitor guest service within the department, ensuring that it is effective and efficient, meeting both guest requirements and The Star Brisbane’s standards 

What we will be looking for 

  • Tertiary Qualifications in a hospitality or business field 

  • Extensive hotel experience in a high-volume environment 

  • Demonstrated experience leading professional hospitality teams 

  • Strong communication skills with competent computer literacy 

About you 

You will be an experienced Housekeeping professional with a background in five-star property or integrated resort. You will have experience ensuring operational efficiencies whilst always enhancing the guest experience and maintaining the highest level of room presentation. You will bring a collaborative and welcoming mindset and understand the importance of embedding this culture within a team-oriented environment.  As we move to The Star Brisbane, you will be critical in leading the team through change. You will have a demonstrated understanding of relevant industry regulatory requirements with experience ensuring these requirements are met as part of your ways of working.
