Join our team as an Alterationist at The Star Brisbane.?? 

The Star Brisbane, positioned at the heart of the new Queen’s Wharf Brisbane precinct, will be Australia’s newest entertainment and leisure destination. Commencing a staged opening in 2024, The Star Brisbane will bring a range of unique entertainment options, world class hotels, dining, bars, luxury retail, gaming, and a state-of-the-art Event Centre, transforming how people will play, shop, and socialise in the river city.? 

The Alterationist, reporting to the Wardrobe Manager, is responsible for the prompt and effective repair and alterations of garments, uniforms and other linens for The Star Team Members, Guests, and Hotel.  

A few of your responsibilities

  • Repair of linens, uniforms, and other items as required?? 

  • Items correctly identified and returned to owner/guest?? 

  • Understand all Alterationist processes and operation of the necessary machinery?? 

  • Safely uses various pieces of equipment to perform tasks?? 

  • Helping with uniform counter when required 

  • Compliance with The Star Entertainment Group’s Sustainability Strategy including waste minimisation, recycling activities, and reducing energy and water use?? 

What we will be looking for? 

  • Qualification or demonstrated experience in Alterations? 

  • Tailoring qualifications highly regarded but not essential?? 

  • Able to work quickly and efficiently? 

  • Intermediate numeracy and literacy skills?? 

About You 

We are seeking a motivated and skilled individual with previous Alterations experience. As an Alterationist with The Star Brisbane, you will have the ability to work efficiently, while working in a prompt manner across our Wardrobe department. The ideal candidate will have a qualification or demonstrated experience in Alterations and Tailoring.  

An intermediate understanding of numeracy and literacy skills is needed as you will be tailoring our team members with uniforms.
