About the role

Reporting to the Chief People Officer you will contribute to the development and implementation of the strategy of the Directorate by providing strategic and operational HR expertise, insights and best practice. In addition to organising the planning, budgeting and reporting of activities within the People & Culture (P&C) Business Partnering team, the incumbent will coordinate key processes and prepare regular management reports. The incumbent demonstrates leadership with the P&C Business Partnering team in driving a culture and practice within P&C that places the client at the centre.

You will partner with senior / executive leaders across multiple Corporate Directorates to translate business and strategic objectives into targets, tactical plans and action steps to be implemented.

You will lead through the business partnering team or through collaboration with key stakeholders, the delivery of recommendations and solutions covering multiple areas of human resources including employment/education training and development, compensation & benefits, records administration, diversity and inclusion, employment/industrial relations, strategic workforce analysis, talent attraction and resource planning, organisational change management, WHS and Injury Management.

This is a parental leave coverage position for circa 10 months. We are flexible to the location of this position and are committed to our employees having access to a COVD safe office environment while enabling flexible work options.

Key responsibilities

  • Actively contribute as a People & Culture Lead team member in shaping and leading the People & Culture strategy and business plans.
  • Partner across the organisation in proactively identifying strategic People opportunities as well as leveraging these relationships to ensure complex issues are managed strategically.
  • Partner with the senior / executive Leaders in the business to identify, build and implement human resources solutions to meet strategic and operational business needs.
  • Contribute to the development and evaluation of changes and improvements to the services provide by the Directorate and ensures that changes support the viability of LWB.
  • Understand industry trends, current market landscape and commercial implications, and demonstrate knowledge of the impact P&C advice has on the other Directorates in LWB.
  • Research and develop strategic solutions to resolve complex business issues.
  • Provide strategic and high level operational advice as partners to senior / executive leaders regarding HR and other People and Culture related policies, programs and practices.
  • Monitor, coach, support, motivate and develop team members to enable them to deliver to the best of their ability.

Qualifications & experience required: 

  • Bachelor qualification and relevant professional registration
  • Significant experience in HR management and or business partnering positions within a complex environment and / or large organisation
  • Demonstrated experience interacting at a senior/strategic level.
  • Significant experience developing and implementing business plans and strategies
  • Demonstrated experience in coaching and relationship building
  • Demonstrated application of strong commercial acumen · Demonstrated experience in executing HR processes and activities within a complex environment · Demonstrated experience in managing competing priorities and to deliver high quality outcomes within agreed timeframes.
