About the Role

The Payroll Life Cycle Lead is pivotal in ensuring the efficient processing of employee data related to onboarding, offboarding, employee variations, and position changes across LWB entities nationwide. This role handles the complexity of awards and legislation, particularly concerning long service leave entitlements and state-specific differences. Ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, the Payroll Life Cycle Lead supervises a team of payroll officers, providing strong leadership, training, and ongoing development while fostering a cohesive, high-performing team culture.

In addition to managing the Life Cycle team, you will play a key role in training initiatives, mentoring activities, performance management, and driving process improvements across payroll operations and projects. Collaborating closely with the Group Payroll Manager and other team leads, you will contribute to strategic enhancements and operational changes aimed at advancing our shared service This is a permanent full-time position with a flexible location.\

Skills & Experience

  • Relevant tertiary qualification or relevant payroll leadership experience
  • Demonstrated management experience in leading high performing teams and excellence in service delivery.
  • Significant knowledge of relevant legislative and regulatory environment for areas of responsibility i.e. Superannuation, Workers Compensation, tax, Salary packaging and in particular long service leave entitlements across multiple states legislative agencies
  • Demonstrated experience in award and employment contract interpretation.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing advice and support to managers and employees on payroll related matters.
  • Experience working both transactionally and proactively with a focus on continuous improvement.

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check (where relevant to the role).
