About you

A new opportunity has become available at Life Without Barriers for a Program Manager to support our Child, Youth and Family Service Out of Home Care services.

This role will suit someone who is highly motivated, strategic, has attention to detail, able to quickly grasp and respond to local needs and has a key focus for continuous improvement and positive client outcomes.  

You will have experience in the management of Out of Home Care, inclusive of foster care and Residential care. You will use your business acumen and interpersonal skills to engage and work with multiple stakeholders, as well as promote LWB as a quality service provider. Familiarity with the CARE framework would be beneficial.

About the role

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Program Manager to join our Gold Coast team in a leadership position. The Program Manager oversees and manages the day-to-day operations of our Child Youth & Family Programs including Foster Care and Adolescent Programs.

This permanent full-time position provides flexibility, allowing for both office (Robina) and home-based work arrangements. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, lead, motivate and manage a team of Case Managers, Child & Family Practitioners and Youth Workers
  • Overseeing the caseloads of direct reports and providing practical support as required
  • Manage the Family Intervention Service, ensuring compliance with legislation, standards, contractual requirements, and internal policy
  • Ensure delivery of program services in accordance with program budget, local business plans and in line with client needs and plans
  • Develop, lead, motivate and manage a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Ensure a consistent standard of quality is delivered for program in accordance with regulations prescribed in relevant legislation and funding agency standards.
  • Manage risks and issues arising in the course of service management
  • Contribute positively to Gold Coast strategies relating to Compliance, Cultural Confidence, Practice Improvement, Carer Support, Transition Planning.

Essential Criteria

  • Recognised Human Services or other relevant qualification.
  • Significant experience in the child protection and out of home care sector.
  • Strong coordination, leadership and peer support skills.
  • Highly developed critical thinking and reflective practice skills
  • High level communication, influencing, liaison, negotiation and mediation skills.
  • Current Drivers Licence.

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check (where relevant to the role).

AHS ensures efficient responses to after-hours events that cannot wait until the next business day, relieving our front-line staff from on-call duties and significantly improving their work-life balance.
