About the Job
The Swinburne Skills and Jobs Centre is seeking a Career Support Intake Officer to join its team of Career Practitioners. This entry-level role will primarily undertake the client intake process that supports individuals entering the service.
While the main purpose of this role will be to help clients smoothly engage with our service, there will also be a range of tasks that will support the overall team and projects you can make your own. The role will focus on:
- creating a positive customer experience, clarifying SJC services, and answering questions
- helping clients prepare for their career session
- assisting reception with customer service and administrative tasks
- contributing to workshop content development
- supporting career practitioners with career development and job readiness workshops
- following up with clients to provide a high-quality end-to-end service.
We are looking for a candidate with high-level administrative and customer service skills who can create positive customer experiences and who has a passion for helping our clients succeed in their careers.
About you
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:
- Demonstrated ability to foster and promote an inclusive, safe environment and provide support to a diverse range of clients.
- Ability to manage customer enquiries and a demonstrated commitment to customer service including follow-up and closure activities.
- Demonstrated ability in maintaining detailed client enquiries/interactions in Customer 1 (or similar CRM).
- Excellent telephone manner and positive attitude to providing high-level customer service to all enquiries.
- Have high-level interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal and proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Be a collaborator and team player, with the ability to work independently and proactively to support the team to deliver the best service to its clients.
Qualifications
- Relevant post-graduate or vocational qualification in Career Development and/or relevant experience in higher education, TAFE or apprenticeships.
